like sorry pretty sure that GNC is not a term we can apply to ways society sorts people against their will– it is a term of expression. It’s not ‘GNC’ to face marginalization for your sexuality, race, disability status, etc. That implies that the only people who truly own their gender are people who don’t experience discrimination. That the only people who can ‘conform’ to their gender are the most privileged people in society and everyone else’s expression of gender is inferior. I’m not gender nonconforming for being a fat woman just because thin women are considered more valuable in my society. That doesn’t put me in the same boat as trans and nonbinary people who have completely different needs and narratives than I do.
