imagine being summoned to another plane of existence and being described as a “meat elemental”
Maybe dogs lick us so much because they know there’s bones beneath our skin
This is the worst one by far, thanks
j.k.r. needs like one close friend to sit her down and go: “okay, but, go over this with me again. you decided the evil snake your dark wizard kept as a pet and vessel of his fragmented horrific soul – the one that has to be murdered in order to defeat the evil wizard – is in fact….an asian woman who was cursed to eventually become a beast and monster in her own body. am i getting this right? the asian woman turns into a snake because her bloodline is cursed and then she becomes the pet of a white supremacist with magic. you invented a body curse specifically for turning women into monsters and your first thought was not like, subversion of fairy tale misogyny but….to add a layer of racism? just trying to understand here.”Â

TV show: This is a TV show called Shits&Farts. It is about shits, & farts. The main characters are two men named Shit, & Fart. They tell shit & fart jokes to each other for the whole twenty-minute runtime.
at least one person you follow on tumblr, instantly: omfg im WITHERING from last nights ep….. the dynamic between shit & fart is so fucking  tense and erotic……im still fucking sobbing i hate my sweet babies….. why do they treat each other like this im fucking BATHING IN ACID….. its so good…….. im EMBALMING MYSELF and then DESECRATING MY OWN CORPSE…..
It would be odd if your teeth were always soft unless you had food that made em aroused so your teeth hardened, then you can eat.
There is a specific and terrifying difference between “never were” monsters and “are not anymore” monsters
“The thing that was not a deer” implies a creature which mimics a deer but imperfectly and the details which are wrong are what makes it terrifying
“The thing that was not a deer anymore” on the other hand implies a thing that USED to be a deer before it was somehow mutated, possessed, parasitically controlled or reanimated improperly and what makes THAT terrifying is the details that are still right and recognizable poking out of all the wrong and horrible malformations.
hey I totally fucked up and forgot the 3rd type, which is “Is Not Anymore And Maybe Never Was” monsters
“The thing which was no longer a deer and maybe never was” implies a creature that, at first glance, completely appears to be a deer, but over time degrades very slowly until you realize (probably too late) that it is not a deer anymore, and had you seen it in this state first, you wouldn’t have recognized it as a deer at all, and there’s a decent chance that it was never actually a deer to begin with but only a very good mimic, and what makes this one scary is the slow change from everything being right to everything being wrong, happening slowly enough that you don’t even notice it until its too late, as well as the fact that something now so clearly not a deer could have fooled you to begin with.
me, covered in snow and holding onto a dog that is lashing tentacles out of its alien body as it tries to assimilate me: GUYS THERE’S FREE DOGS IN THE ANTARCTIC

Wh….what’s a stonefish…?
probably our most toxic thing besides snakes and other sea creatures like the blue ring octopus, but from what i can tell they’re a more common thing to get stung by.
they’re a relative of the pufferfish. search what they look like. they just look like a bumpy rock with a grumpy face. hence the name. apparently they’re even decently camouflaged lying on the beach, and they can go all day out of the water. so they’re impossible to spot underwater unless it’s very clear, and you know what to look for.
they have “13 sharp strong dorsal fin spines“, and just lie in wait. i assume it catches prey like this but it’s also perfectly adapted to going right up into a human foot. i’ve never been to a beach where they’re common but i was still warned about them in school. from the queensland museum website “The pain is immediate, excruciating and may last for many days. Muscular
paralysis, breathing difficulties, shock, and sometimes heart failure
and death can ensue”. it needs immediate hospitalisation (although, apparently, wikipedia says hot water at 45 degrees can neutralise the venom, but still go to hospital holy shit don’t rely on wikipedia for your antivenom needs)
so like, you’ll usually live, but you’ll definitely be on crutches for a few months because it just fucks up the muscles in your foot. but the pain. i’m 100% every website is understating how much it hurts, because everyone i talk to whose seen someone after being stung by a stonefish will still wince when they talk about it.
