Wh….what’s a stonefish…?

probably our most toxic thing besides snakes and other sea creatures like the blue ring octopus, but from what i can tell they’re a more common thing to get stung by.

they’re a relative of the pufferfish. search what they look like. they just look like a bumpy rock with a grumpy face. hence the name. apparently they’re even decently camouflaged lying on the beach, and they can go all day out of the water. so they’re impossible to spot underwater unless it’s very clear, and you know what to look for.

they have “13 sharp strong dorsal fin spines“, and just lie in wait. i assume it catches prey like this but it’s also perfectly adapted to going right up into a human foot. i’ve never been to a beach where they’re common but i was still warned about them in school. from the queensland museum website “The pain is immediate, excruciating and may last for many days. Muscular
paralysis, breathing difficulties, shock, and sometimes heart failure
and death can ensue”. it needs immediate hospitalisation (although, apparently, wikipedia says hot water at 45 degrees can neutralise the venom, but still go to hospital holy shit don’t rely on wikipedia for your antivenom needs)

so like, you’ll usually live, but you’ll definitely be on crutches for a few months because it just fucks up the muscles in your foot. but the pain. i’m 100% every website is understating how much it hurts, because everyone i talk to whose seen someone after being stung by a stonefish will still wince when they talk about it.

Did you ever apologize for calling @catsuggest a Terf blog when both blogs you tagged are actually in support of Trans people?

clitcheese:

if i see u in my activity again you’re getting blocked. idk why its easier for you to spam instead of actually checking the notes of a post to see what other people found.

and like. that post was for trans people. trans people who don’t want to see terfs on their dash, glitch or not. if u check catsuggest’s tag i was not the first to note that following them gets u suggested the same bunch of terf blogs, and in the notes of my post early on a few people said they had been recommended the same blogs. i didn’t say “go fucking witchhunt a cat blog mod” i said following them gets u terf recommendations, and “stay safe”. as in, i literally don’t cate who follows the damn cat blog. i care about trans people’s mental health. chill.

and to the next hundred people who try to debunk that post that following catsuggest gets terfs recommended to u: showing me that particular submissions to a submission blog doesn’t debunk that the mod is a transphobe. it’s a submission blog.

also: “i searched the blog for the word ‘trans’ and no violent transphobia came up” like wow guys maybe they don’t tag it? maybe terfs use coded language? try genderist. try tim (trans identified male). try the hundreds of other ways that radfems try to not look like they want trans women to either detransition or die. but again: it’s a submission blog. like 0% of that blog is guaranteed to be the authors own views. so better yet: just try relaxing when u see a post you don’t agree with. if you’re not trans it might not even concern u.

because, last time i’m saying this: the post i made was for trans people’s mental health, trans people who might not want to see terfs on their blog just for following a cool-looking blog. it’s not that outrageous tbh

@rodentmancy omg i checked their transphobia and Down with Cis tags and found such gems as, there just isn’t transphobia in New Zealand, that the Human Pet Guy™ himself isn’t a transphobe, and that this person started a sideblog dedicated to fighting the down w cis movement.

this was entirely my fault for responding to the ask before checking the blog. only trolls ever get this hyped about this shit.
