Iβd much sooner associate with people who donβt know proper terminology and are ignorant of social justice who clearly show a character of love and help than someone who knows all the discourse and vocabulary but has the character of a tire fire, ready to consume and hurt for self gain.
let us mourn her with a traditional ballad aka this is so sad alexa play toxic by britney spears
if you dissociate hard enough you can eavesdrop on conversations youβre a part of
i donβt remember making this post
Just saw a fic tagged βFpreg,β not sure if thatβs considered a power move but itβs definitely a move

βThe Internet is making my kid gay/trans!βΒ
Β The internet is giving your kid acceptance.Β
Β That was supposed to be your job.β
–Β
Tagging and trigger-warning/content-noting ought to be a neutral actβafter all, youβre only telling people whatβs in a piece of content, youβre not censoring it.Β But deciding which things need to be tagged is never entirely neutral.
Imagine if every time you posted a picture of your dog, people reblogged it withΒ β#dog cn,βΒ β#dog tw,βΒ β#dog phobia,βΒ β#d-word.βΒ And every time you posted a picture of your cat, people reblogged it withΒ β#awwwβ andΒ β#hi kitty.β
Strictly speaking, they havenβt said anything untrue or negative about your dog, and dog phobia is a real thing that exists.Β But you would still get the message loud and clear that these people feel differently about dogs and cats.
iβd be really curious to know what percent of queerbaiting isΒ
a) an intentionalΒ marketing scheme to stir interest in the project and attract certain fanbases (lgbtqΒ people and young women) vs.Β
b) members of the creative team genuinely wanting to write queer characters but the corporate side of things force them to tone it down but they still leave little hints vs.Β
c) they legitimately did not know how gay something would come across

Tired: Autistic people are ~just like you~! We have more in common than we do differences!
Wired: Autistic people can be super weird and you might feel like you canβt relate to our experiences, but you donβt need to have things in common with someone to respect their existence.

Do you have any tips for writing bisexual characters?
Write more than one bi character in the same story.Β Itβs dangerous to let a single character represent All Bisexuals Everywhereβ’. (Same with any other character who belongs to a specific minority group.)
Does one character fall into theΒ βbisexuals sleep aroundβ stereotype, but it feels true to who they are, so you want to keep it that way? Add another bisexual character who doesnβt sleep around.
Does one female bisexual character end up with a man, frustrating your wlw audience? Add another prominent bi woman who ends up in a sapphic relationship.
Have two bisexuals. Have three. Have twenty! Give them different gender identities, racial identities, body types, backgrounds. Real life bisexuals are all over the map, so why should you have only one?
