who is operating under denial and tries to be a decent person to some level at least.
These people are on the same level as westboro baptist churchers. They want trans women eradicated. Destroyed. Literally “morally mandated out of existence” (as Janice Raymond wrote).
They want us dead.
They can not be reasoned with. They can’t be convinced. They can’t be made to see reality. They will, even if you attempt gentle communication, work to hurt you. They will work to abuse you. They will work to do as much harm as possible in the hopes that they can either cow you to their genocidal viewpoint or harm you enough to defend yourself so they can claim you were a “violent dangerous male”.
The only purpose for communicating with a terf is to tear apart their rhetoric for others to see. Make it clear that they’re wrong to others. You’re not here to convince them. It’s not worth the cost of trauma to you.
Seriously, it’s not worth it. Don’t expose yourself to it. If you have to engage, do it swiftly, rip their crap apart and then block and move on. They are out to hurt you. And enough of us die every day, enough of us suffer every day, for any of us to go into hell willingly.

remember when you were young and impressionable and less capable of being critical of the media you consume than you are now and doctor who was a nice thing to distract yourself from the stresses of life so you loved it with all your heart until suddenly the familiar faces left and new ones came in with new ideas about doctor who about the same time you were learning how to be critical of media and growing up and cringe culture started lambasting those stupid superwholock kids from tumblr and you began to distance yourself from your former favourite things partially out of your new critical abilities and partially because you knew it wasn’t cool anymore and now you look back on the days you loved this stupid sci fi show with all your heart with nostalgia and a certain unwillingness to think about its flaws because it represents a happier and more naive time in your life so instead you scorn current fans for being shallower and less morally upright than you and now you see old videos and pictures and gifsets on tumblr and you reblog them just to say
I want people to stop attacking nonbinary people who describe their genders in abstract, flowery terms. And I want them to stop dismissing them as “just teenagers who don’t know any better”, too.
You know why? Because cis people do the same thing all the time and nobody bats an eye about it.
Manhood and womanhood are associated with symbols, colors, animals, astronomical objects, mythological figures, a whole list of things that have no inherent gendered properties, and that’s fine. (A lot of those symbols are stereotypical, but some binary people still embrace them, while others have come up with alternate symbols that better reflect what being a man or woman means to them.)
If men and women can describe their genders in abstract, symbolic, poetic terms, so can nonbinary people.
