The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost; for none now live who remember it.
There’s a sign on the wall at the place I’m working today. It says:
“Hugging is good medicine! It transfers energy and gives the person hugged an emotional lift. You need four hugs a day for survival, eight for maintenance, and twelve for growth.”

critiques of negative utilitarianism are wild because they’re like “that means if you can destroy the universe you have a moral obligation to!” as if overstepping consent does not inherently create suffering and you could get everyone’s consent to die
i want to clarify here that this gives off the vibe that i actually read philosophy and that’s not true at all
