but damn the “this isn’t a coherent class” thing usually means that ur talking about some kind of oppression that doesn’t map neatly as a Class War thing

like are men a coherent class? are cis people coherent? ill never know because no one has ever used this word along with an explanation! what does it fucking mean! at this point it’s just a red flag signalling that someone’s about to claim some form of oppression is fake

ugh it may have been 5 fucking years ago but i remember reading a great critique of the phrase “coherent class” and how it’s only ever heard on leftist tumblr and doesn’t have a defined meaning. as in, it hasn’t been used in peer reviewed literature because no one actually knows what it means. if anyone can find me this ancient post or any published articles that critique the phrase that would be amazing because i’ve been searching around i’ve got nothing.
