Somewhere I read that a symptom of autism/ ASD is a tendency to feel victimized. Feel. And I couldnโt get that out of my head because there is a difference between just saying thatย and saying โa tendency to beโ victimized. Sayingย โfeelโ carries the implication that the victimization is in oneโs head.ย
But in any case, thereโsย probably a reason people with ASD feel victimized:
Autistic children are more likely to be bullied.ย
Autistic children are more likely to be abused.
Autistics are more likely to be unemployed.
Schools find loopholes to discriminate against autistic children.ย
Autistiscs have a higher risk of experiencing police brutality.ย
Autistics suffer because they are not given effective medical care.
So, gee, that might be the problem. Not that autistic people justย โfeelโ victimized.
