ppl always wanna put mental health symptoms down to “doing it for attention” as if wanting attention is inherently a bad thing. let alone the fact that it implies that it’s being done on purpose which is seldom the case. as if attention isn’t what society lusts for every single day. no one wants to feel unwanted and uncared for but when a mentally ill individual is expressing their pain in a way that isn’t considered acceptable then it’s suddenly the worst attention-seeking behavior they’ve ever seen

this is why it makes my blood boil when ppl start shaming self harmers. “oh, they’re doing it for attention”, so what?! who cares if that’s the case. and sometimes it is. but that is clearly not what we should be focusing on here. someone is experiencing great pain and your first instinct is to invalidate the situation? way to go, mate. that’ll definitely improve the picture

everyone in fantasy novels is horny on main for elves and it’s honestly a travesty like why the hell would you want to marry an elf you’ll just spend the rest of your days growing old in the woods with a bunch of immortal bastards whose heads are so far up their asses they think singing week-long ballads is prime entertainment and say shit like “thou” and “beseech” unironically y’all should be hooking up with dwarves who 1. actually know how to throw the fuck down and let loose at a party 2. will literally shower you in diamond dust and gold they mined and crafted with their bare hands and 3. can sling you over their shoulder like a sack of potatoes with their huge muscular arms developed from hours of said mining and crafting. there’s literally no contest.

my ideal version of new who canon goes something like:

the doctor never regrets ending the time war the way it did. not once. sure they’re remorseful, often guilty that they were the one who had to do it, definitely survivor’s guilt and a lot of the time they wish they could have been blown up right there with Gallifrey and the rest of the time lords. but given the chance to have a do over, they’d do it again. and again. they did what had to be done, and that’s the only way they cope with it.

(part of this might be informed by what happened to jamie and zoe, and the doctor never being able to forgive them for it)

the doctor never meddles with the time war, never even thinks about bringing Gallifrey back. eventually they come back anyway, which leads to Heaven Sent, which leads nicely into the doctor blowing up Gallifrey to hell all over again. There’s no part 2 to my favourite episode, no bargaining to bring Clara back from the dead, no weird power games with Rassilon, and absolutely no reveal about the Hybrid, no awfully long conversations with ashildr at the end of time, no memory wipe games. The Doctor just blows it the fuck away, which, tbh, is the only way season 9 should have ended. that finale is such a goddamn asspull. it’s like they expected everyone to forget that bringing the time lords back was 10’s worst fear, and the entire climax to their era was very literally Sending Them Back To Hell.

I’m seeing people say that Twelve and Bill’s relationship reminds them of Ten and Donna, and I kinda see what they mean, but like

Seven and Ace

we all saw Ace vibes (and Donna ones) in that initial clip, and now we’ve really got it, because it’s not a best mates friendship as much as a mentoring friendship, the Doctor teaching the companion as they go

plus, the “Professor” thing, except in Twelve’s case it was more literal and not just a randomly picked up title the companion uses

plus we know Ace also loved ladies

am I saying Bill should get to beat up a Dalek with a baseball bat? that wasn’t where I was going with this but yes actually she definitely should
