I want a world where lesbian women’s love exclusively for other women is never questioned, and they are never pressured in to heteronormativity.

I want a world where bisexual women’s sexuality is never used as a weapon to attack her, where bisexual women are not thought of as morally or intellectually inferior or “dirty”.

I want a world where asexual women are assumed to be living happy lives, and recognized as being totally fulfilled in their independence, and are never told they need a sexual relationship to be whole.

I want a world where heterosexual women can have healthy relationships with men and are treated fairly by men.

I want a world where transgender women’s gender is never questioned, they are not pressured by cisnormativity, and are allowed to express themselves and their sexuality how they want.

I want a world where intersex women aren’t subjected to unnecessary nonconsensual medical procedures.

I want a world where nonbinary women’s genders are respected and they are never told it is wrong to identify as both nonbinary and a woman

We want a world where pansexual women are allowed to express their sexuality however they want, their attraction isn’t considered slutty, greedy, or impure.

We want a world where polyamorous women can love as many partners as they feel comfortable with, their relationships are never questioned and are not assumed to be cheating.

I want a world where aromantic women are assumed to be whole and no one thinks they are missing something because they do not have romance in their lives.

I want a world where queer women are not demonized for the label they chose to use for their sexuality.

Miss Major in The Trans List (2016)

Transcript and description:

A series of images with subtitles showing words spoken by Miss Major Griffin-Gracy. The first images show black and white photos of the Stonewall Riots.

The first picture shows cops leading a drag queen (as identified by Getty, though this term also referred generally to trans women). The source seems to be a 1962 photo by Getty Images from a ball that took place seven years before Stonewall, and she is probably being arrested for “masquerading and indecent exposure” according to Getty.

The second image shows a crowd of angry people over the shoulders of two cops and a man in a suit who are facing them and holding them back, and is the only picture of the first night of the Stonewall Riots. (Wikimedia Commons copy).

The third image shows a crowd of people outside the West Side Savings Bank on the corner of Christopher Street (location of the Stonewall Inn), with a small group of cops in the foreground, on the fifth night of the Stonewall Riots. (NYT source)

The remaining images show pictures of Miss Major, a Black woman with dark grey hair wearing a pink shirt, speaking to the camera. The subtitles say:

“And when that Stonewall Incident happened, I was there when the fighting started. Did it change things? It did for the gay and the lesbian community. Did it change things for my transgender community? It really didn’t. We’re the third or fourth letter in that alphabet soup thing that they have, LGBT. Well, to me, “T” should have been first. We were there doing most of the fighting, so let’s start there.”

dispelling myths about trans people

genderdeath:

“all trans people are gay”

while many trans people are very gay, trans people are actually capable of fucking anyone they want including themselves, your mom, or the government

“trans women don’t release the same venomous secretions that cis women do”

actually, due to the consistently high estrogen levels engendered by hrt, trans women have particularly potent venom

“trans women reify harmful stereotypes in their performance of womanhood”

that’s the dumbest shit ive ever heard do you even listen to yourself

“transgender people don’t face systemic discrimination”

give me five dollars you fucking weenie

actually. truscum, there’s already a cure. it’s conversion therapy. stop pretending cis people will ever care enough about our dysphoria to make a magical anti-dysphoria injection or whatever you imagine the Cure is going to look like. torturing us to get us to stop transitioning is always going to be less effort for them. just get it through your heads that there will be no cure other than electric shocks and psychological reprogramming

“psychiatry wouldn’t do that to us” they already do it to autistic kids to get rid of autism symptoms. after decades of looking for an autism cure it’s still only electroshock therapy and aborting autistic kids before birth. promises of autism cures have led to actual deaths. more times than i like to think about, when a parent is promised a cure for long enough and realise there isn’t one, the next ‘cure’ they try is murdering their child.

that’s why acceptance is the only way to go. acceptance will get less of us tortured and killed, no matter which group we’re talking about. stop giving cis people the idea that it’s okay to “fix” us because it will never be a good option for us, especially the children that can’t fight back.

[here are some blacklist keywords in case anyone doesn’t tag this right: conversion therapy, torture, eugenics, child abuse, electroshock therapy, trans deaths, autistic deaths, disabled deaths, trans murders, autistic murders, disabled murders, death of trans people, death of autistic people, death of disabled people, ableism, transphobia, truscum discourse. tell me if i missed any possible trigger because This Is Not a Fun Post]

glitchwitch-the-gynoidbitch:

Like, that’s one of the most insidious things cis people have done to us, create this idea that we suffer because we are trans and not because of how we are treated for being trans.

I mean, it constituted a huge “discovery” in the psych world when research showed that rampant depression and increased risk of suicide in trans people was tied to how badly we are isolated and alienated, and that conclusion would likely never have been reached without transness first being slowly de-pathologized, and thus not treated as just being something that is conveniently co-morbid with debilitating mental illness.

Cis people are deeply invested in any narrative that removes their involvement in our suffering and thus places the onus of change on us, demanding we subject ourselves to a psychiatric community that first attempts to obliterate our transness before it even considers helping facilitate it.

This misdirection of responsibility needs to be called out for what it is, an act of violence against trans people at the hands of cis people, and whether its through media, or medical discourse, or casual cissexism, it needs to fucking stop, and y’all cis folk need to hold yourselves accountable for how you perpetuate it.

Holy fuck
