if you’re really so fucking concerned about the wellbeing of people who are self-medding hrt, end the absurd eugenic gatekeeping system of gender ‘care’ and fight to make it so that you can get HRT from your GP on an informed-consent basis without waiting years or having to carefully line up the right story for a succession of psychiatrists and doctors, and give GPs the guidance and training to do bloods without having to write a letter to the GIC for every single thing. or, if you prefer, some other way to get good quality, well-monitored HRT into the hands of trans people as soon as we need it.

but if you’re not going to fight for that, you don’t actually give a shit about trans peoples’ health, so shut the fuck up and spare us the noise when we do what we have to to survive this shit.

EVERY single fucking Daily Mail anti-trans headline that pretends that it’s So Concerned For The Children is essentially just a bunch of dogwhistles and code words for “transgender minors should be forcefully detransitioned so that they can be more easily broken to the will of their abusive parents”. The idea of trans teenagers that pursue transition out of their own free will is anathema to the conservative worldview both in that they truly desire to will transgender people out of existence, but also in that the idea of teenagers exerting any free will and defiance of parental authority is horrifying to editors and readers who believe that children are meant to be their parents’ property.
