The term โ€œfandom moderateโ€ will never not be funny to me.

โ€œIโ€™m really not here for discourse, Iโ€™m just into fandom to have fun and Iโ€™m not really inclined to mix my politics into my fandom activity.โ€

โ€œWow, sounds like something a centrist would say lmao. Why do you hate the proletariatโ€

for real, though, why do recipes consistently tell you to use less herbs and spices in than you should. fuck yourย โ€œtwo cloves of garlic,โ€ fuck yourย โ€œhalf teaspoon of cinnamon,โ€ and you can absolutely go to hell with yourย โ€œdash of black pepperโ€

Iโ€™m pretty sure that the only time Iโ€™ve ever actually managed to overseason food was when working with balsamic vinegar, which is the most overpowering motherfucker of a sauce known to man

i appreciate the energy and anger in this post, which is righteous and just

Any story claiming to be a deconstruction of fairy tales but has nothing to offer except new types of violence, more explicit sex, and a general attitude ofย โ€œlol happy endings arenโ€™t realโ€ is like. such a cultural waste of time tbh

know what actually is a good deconstruction of a fairy tale? Shrek. It fucks up just about everything in a normal fairy tale and still manages to have a happy ending with a good message and never once has to be โ€˜grittyโ€™ or โ€˜darkโ€™. Itโ€™s actually really well done.

โ€œThe trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artist; a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain.โ€

– Ursula LeGuin, โ€˜The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelasโ€™

In dark times such as these, it is absolutely revolutionary to be happy.

Enough with the โ€œAutistic with a hidden talentโ€ stereotype.

I get why Allistics thought it was a good idea. Maybe they meant to say โ€œjust because youโ€™re Autistic doesnโ€™t mean you canโ€™t have skills, look at Rain Man!โ€

Iโ€™m sorry, as an Autistic person I have license to say that it completely backfired.

Youโ€™re not saying โ€œAutistic people can be smartโ€ any more.

Youโ€™re saying โ€œAutistic people owe us some sort of super talented to exist.โ€

Autistic people do not need to be geniuses to be valid (and Iโ€™m a top student myself, but I can still see the problem in this). Autistic people do not need to prove themselves to be extraordinary, or โ€œwork twice as hardโ€ to get basic respect.

Autistic people do not need to be extremely talented in order to be appreciated, pass it on.
