One last hot take and then I’ll shut up: the reason adhd is framed first and foremost as a learning disability when it is in fact more apt to call it an emotional processing disorder is bc our society is only concerned w the ways neurological disorders impede a person’s ability to “function” aka get a job and contribute positively to capitalist society. How adhd affects interpersonal behaviors and emotional health is only relevant insofar as it relates to a person’s level of societal functioning PERIOD. There is no interest in improving our actual livelihoods
This is why girls are often not diagnosed w adhd until they are much older, bc they are forced to develop certain social awareness and self-surveillance capacities at an extremely young age and thus don’t perform “poorly” in the areas usually looked at to signify the disorder. But that doesn’t mean girls don’t take that distress out thru other avenues, just that the many alternative iterations of the disorder are ignored by professionals bc they don’t matter as far as society is concerned, as long as a girl is performing “well enough”

That stupid post about why women and queer people love cats has still got me all fucked up because like a cat is a small animal that is wholly reliant on you it can’t live in your home without your permission and you have to actively and willingly keep it there and this chucklefuck is mad that this animal, that has no decision making power over its own life, doesn’t adequately return the “emotional labor” of being cared for as if the cat understands feminist theory or philosophy in general.
Like the cat weighs seven pounds, you can cut his balls off, and you literally legally own him. If you don’t like having him around you can easily remove him. You aren’t in an abusive financially dependant relationship with him because he’s not a grown human man its a CAT
Werewolves are stereotyped as ravenous monsters because the transformations burn so many calories that they’re essentially starving afterwords. The more “controlled” werewolves are just the ones who figured this out and loaded up on calories beforehand, whereas the “wild” ones assume it’s part of their wolfish nature to hunt and eat whatever’s nearby.
The transformation back burns calories too, but by that point they’re exhausted from running around in the woods all night, not to mention the physical strain of two transformations. And filthy people showing up at Denny’s in the early morning are assumed to be hungover, so the ravenous beast idea is applied only to the wolf half.

don’t make other people’s decisions for them. apply for the job you don’t think you’ll get. let them decide if you have the skills they’re looking for. tell that person you like them even though you think they’re out of your league. let them decide if they like you. stop trying to predict and control everything. bring what you have to the table. let the rest go.
my problem with the whole ‘mogai hell’ thing is the faux-caring attitude people employ when they talk about it. like they’ll talk about how the ‘mogai community’ is damaging to questioning gay people, or lesbians, or bi people, because it might convince them they’re, like, ‘abroromantic sapphoaesthetic womasexual’ instead of just being a lesbian.
so they’re worried that mogai might cause young lgb people to have internalized homophobia. ok. but then, how do they approach these young people who are identifying as whatever identity they’ve determined is ‘mogai hell’ today? do they show these young people understanding or compassion?
no. they screenshot their blogs to make fun of them, they participate in ‘cringe culture’, they make troll blogs where they jokingly adopt these ‘mogai hell’ identities, and they make frequent mean-spirited jokes about ‘cringey’ 14 year olds calling themselves autochorissexual. so they clearly don’t actually care about young people with internalized homophobia, or they wouldn’t be loudly mocking them like this. they just want to bully people. it’s concern trolling at its finest, and it’s pretty transparent.

For some people labels are important. Some people need general labels and some people need more specific microlabels. Both of these are fine and completely valid.
But when people start mocking “mogai hell” not only is that being a piece of shit masquerading as worry about how mogai might cause internalised homophobia, it’s also taking the piss out of lesser known identities.
oh absolutely! my intention wasn’t to say that all mogai identities cause internalized homophobia, but that if that’s what these ‘anti mogai’ discoursers genuinely believed, they’d be showing people with ‘mogai identities’ compassion rather than just bullying them and calling them cringey.
but yeah, what you said is also absolutely true. for a lot of people, having a very specific term to describe your identity is extremely important! so when discoursers automatically default to making fun of someone for using a specific label, they’re hurting those people as well. it’s all just super gross overall tbh
