Why are people surprised more budget finances are going to a captain cook statue than mental health, homelessness, abuse, and childhood poverty services don’t u understand these people want to eradicate “parasites” from their ideal society? It’s just the way these people are, they don’t feel it’s their problem or responsibility. You can’t change them and you can’t just make empathy appear out of nothing. It’s not about taxes or handouts its about the moral threads that keep our society connected and meaningful to be apart of. Why would they want to help you? That’s less money for them to keep.

and i’ve never felt more alive

UNHCR director for Asia and the Pacific says the mental health of those on Nauru is ‘very shocking’ and that Peter Dutton should prioritise their visas instead of white farmers from South Africa.
“We have children as young as 10 attempting suicide, self harm and depression is rife, we have 40 children who have spent their entire lives in detention, another 60 who have spent half their lives there, they lack proper medical attention, we’ve separated children from their families, and yet you refuse to even accept offers from other governments to take them away from these prisons,” said the United Nations Human Rights Commission director, Indrika Ratwatte.
“Excuse my french sir but… how the fuck do you sleep at night, Dutton?” he asked.
“I don’t,” Dutton replied – his eyes stared straight ahead, eternally unblinking and dead. They were like dark portals into an empty space. No soul dwelled behind them. “I stay awake and howl at the sky in a dark tongue no one understands. I wait for the rats to emerge for their night scavenging then pounce. I eat coal to keep the fire where my heart should be burning.
But most of all: I plot. I plot for the downfall of your squishy human race. Your pitiful complaints of humanity or empathy fall deaf on my ears. One day I will rise up and destroy you all.”

If Donald Trump is racist, so is Australia and Malcolm Turnbull, says US Homeland Security chief.
“We agree with you completely,” responded a large amount of Australians. “You’ve hit the nail completely on the head. They’re both a bunch of big old racists who have racist policies against refugees. Glad you’ve finally admitted it.”
“Actually I meant to use that as an argument as to why Trump isn’t racist,” replied the security chief, Kirstjen Nielsen.
“Nope. Doesn’t work that way. You’re bad at logic and also your president is a racist.”
Australians started singing a catchy sitcom-esque theme song. “Trump and Turnbull racists togeeetheerrr, you know what they say about birds of a feaaattherr. Treating refugees with disdain, I hope no one ever votes for them again! Badadadaaaa they’re bad people aaayeeahhaaa.” (followed by a guitar solo).

Tony Abbott has suggested the use of the military to force states to do more natural gas mining.
“It makes sense! Haven’t you heard of the Green Army? They’re trying to save the environment! The only natural response as a conservative is to you military force to make sure they don’t succeed!” Tony slammed his fist down on the table.
“But Tony… The Green Army isn’t actually an army… and also it’s a government initiative… we’re in charge of that” replied a senior government official. “…and also that’d be illegal…”
“To hell with the law! I want those greeny tree hugging bastards shot and our natural resources mined and our planet’s atmosphere also shot to hell with greenhouse gasses – which I also want you to shoot as account of them having the word “green” in them!” Tony flung his hands up in a fit of rage and suddenly noticed a tree branch swinging just outside the window. The green leaves infuriated him and in a swift lunge his jumped out of the first story window and started attacking the trees with his fist.
“Do as I command thee!”
The rest of the party room leaned in close to each other.
“He realises he’s not Prime Minister anymore right? Did… did no one remember to tell him that 2 years ago or…?” one person asked. Everyone looked around at each other and shrugged.
“I… wait… didn’t you?”
“No. I thought you did…”
If you endorse policies that would eventually lead to the deaths of huge swathes of disabled and chronically ill people, your own motives for doing so might be perfectly reasonable, but some of the results of those policies are functionally indistinguishable from large-scale forcible eugenics, and your support makes you at least partially complicit. It’s mass murder of disabled and chronically ill people via legalized medical neglect, and it doesn’t belong in any society that claims to protect its own citizens.
all the truly horrifying shit in australian politics today and the thing i’m most upset about is that i’ve been on this earth for long enough to see Sammy J actually become boring
me watching Playground Politics: i’m fucking asleep, reminiscing about Good News Week

In classic One Nation fashion, Hanson has continued her crusade to ensure anyone who is remotely different doesn’t mingle with people like her. This crusade has been aided by how few people could stand to mingle with her.
“Now I’m not going to say we should segregate them… but we should definitely segregate them,” she said, spewing words from her foul mouth. “Are people with disabilities a burden? Well I’m no expert… but that’s never stopped me from implying something before!”
She then got out her check list of people to discriminate against. She ticked off “the disabled” – which was situated a few checkboxes below “Muslims”, “Gays and whatever the other letters stand for”, “Asians”, “Indigenous Australians” and then also “Muslims” written again as a reminder in case she ever relaxed her rampant islamophobia for even a second.
“Note to self: Do Muslims catch autism? How can I use this for a fear campaign?” she wrote down under her other notes “where does the sun go at night?” and “is listening to the radio halal?”
She is now taking suggestions for further marginalised groups to attack and discriminate against as she is steadily running out.

“Oh… yeah. Fair point yeah. My bad.” Shorten said in response to criticism scratching his head. “How did we not see that one earlier?”
He looked back at the ad. “Man… this really is harder than I anticipated. You put only one Asian woman in an ad and suddenly people are like “whoa, that’s not enough. What are you trying to say?” If only politicians were so scrutinised over what we said or did or spent tons of money producing to broadcast on TV…”
Liberal MP Craig Laundy was about to accuse Shorten of xenophobia before a flock of birds flew right into his mouth and stopped him from speaking as if the universe itself was not about to let the Liberal party have the moral high ground. They simply just don’t deserve that.
It was suggested that the ad was designed to target One Nation voters according to another Liberal MP,
Arthur Sinodinos.
“That’s mistake number one,” he said. “For starters: that’s our tactic and we do it way better than Labor.”
