  • het ships with PoC is still extremely rare and uncommon.
  • het ships with PoC are still looked down on especially if one member of the ship is white. (example: finnrey)
  • het ships with PoC are nowhere near as common as white/white het ships.
  • stop treating het ships with PoC as if they’ve had the same amount of recognition and popularity as white/white het ships, because they haven’t. at all. 
  • regardless of your orientation, if you are a white person who shits over het PoC ships you are a racist. you clearly have 0 idea of our long, long history with colonisation which has desexualised and hypersexualised us. 
  • just because they’re in a relationship with someone of another gender, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re heterosexual either.

It’s really cruel to punish your clown for honking, no matter how loud its honking is. Nose-honking is a clown’s instinctive expression of joy and excitement, and yelling at your clown, spraying it with water, or using shock collars will only add to the problem. We are not hurting lesbians and we deserve words to express our gender presentation.

a) mga women were in the same fucking community as lesbians until radfems decided to politicise lesbianism?  There is no “lesbian culture” that does not include mga women, if we are talking about the past. 

b) nb is fairly new thing. a lot of “women” in the past probably would have identified as nb or genderqueer if they had the terminology. 

Just because we didn’t technically “exist” or were erased constantly from LGBT+ history, why should we have no right to language that’s always  been ours? More importantly, why should we be gate kept from a this language now?

This is just such a ridiculous thing to advocate for. Femme and butch just refer to gender presentation and I see no reason why we shouldn’t use them when the definition applies to us,

Seems like a good post to remind people that the term femme was originally used by a lesbian to refer to her bi girlfriend.

two-spirit is a culturally specific term. hijra is a culturally specific term. genderfuck, in the sense of a term with particular, intentional political and social connotations, is a culturally specific term. transgender is an umbrella term encompassing a myriad of experiences from any and all cultures should someone feel like it’s valuable to their identity, and people who were born before the word ever got coined can and should still be considered trans, because to do otherwise serves no purpose but to suppress the knowledge that people like us have always existed, and the only thing that can do is harm

i had asked a roman historian about the roman emperor that may have been a trans lady and the historian tried to tell me that we can’t put labels on historical figures and also that the romans had called this emperor a woman to slander them and i was just. so fucking pissed. better to misgender them or wash away all references to trans people in history than to, what, maybe put a label on somebody? fuck that.
