altegender: pronounced “alt-eh-gender” derived from shortening the phrase “alternate existence.” It is a xenogender that feels as though it’s in a parallel dimension, on a different plane, in a mirror universe, or just in an alternate existence.

These are giving me lots of feels and thoughts. I don’t think I’m going to start identifying as altegender, but I do think there is something jiggling in my brain around it that I may write about at some point. Kind of reblogging for future personal reference.

While I am all for gender expression I have several issues with this.
1) alternate universes aren’t even a confirmed theory. It is speculated by scientist but it is in no way confirmed nor are we close to confirming its theory.
2) chances are if there are alternate existences, we all have a separate gender of ourselves out there so in theory this would include quite literally everyone. The multiverse theory dictates that there are an infinite number of alternate and parallel universes that consist of minor to extreme changes in details. This includes gender.
3) even if the multiverse theory were true, just because there is one out there with an identical replica of you out there with the only difference being their gender, this would not effect you directly. You would still be the gender you are, that alternate you would have the detail variation.
Maybe I’m missunderstanding this but from what it looks like these new terms are explaining exactly this. If I’m missunderstanding it then please explain it to me so that I can understand it, but as of now those are my feelings on this.
Yea these are literally just about how a gender feels, not saying you literally have a gender from another dimension. Its a way of expressing gender perception because of mental illness or just a fuzzy/distant relation to it
also tbh I really don’t care about your feelings on this as its not your gender, it’s mine.

I’m serious. The concept of profit is the sole reason why we haven’t found a solution to global warming yet, and global warming will make vast swaths of land either uninhabitable or unsuitable for the growth of modern crop yields.

because TERFs are often lesbians. like. i knwo they’re terrible and i know they want people dead. but TERFs have every right to lgbt resources because they’re still lgbt. it’s fucking terrible i know. BUT the entire point of the LGBT is to fuckign protect these people. like….i hate TERFs just as much as you do. but if they need an LGBT shelter, or a place to go to fucking escape an abusive parent or just sex-ed or some other important LGBT specific resource, we’re can’t just turn them away. it’s like a death sentence for a lot of people. besides, we should spend our time trying to educate them and change their mindset instead of going. WELP. they’re a lost cause. fuck them. you’d rather let them keep thinking these terrible harmful transphobic thoughts then try to invite them in and educate them? that makes sense.
this is a bad comparison. of course we’re kicking terfs out of our spaces. they’re not entitled to any lgbt resources, unless you want trans, bi, and non white people to feel unsafe in those spaces? teach terfs using isolation and leave them to fester on their own. it’s not our job to educate a hate group. don’t let a fox into a club for rabbits. the entire point of being a terf is that you have read information and you’ve embraced a specific ideology advocating death for all trans women. are we letting in tradfems, too, if they’re gay?

as i have already plainly explained, we actually did have to fight for trans and bi recognition. this is basic, basic history, and not ‘erasing trans people from the movement’, it’s literally basically recognising that we have been already erased from the movement by cis people. for the love of fuck i can’t actually simplify this anymore. Trans people start movement. Gay movement decides it wants nothing to do with trans people. trans people fight this. the letter T is added so that doesn’t happen again. are we clear on this
the second screenshot actually goes into this in more detail than i can? there’s literally nothing incorrect here? what are you even calling out here? that we’re acknowledging trans erasure? do you want to call out someone for a goddamn history lesson? you get that what you’re doing here as a cis person is deliberately misleading right? there are young people who still remember the acronym before it included the T, considering this was a debate topic in the 90s and well into the 00s.

Not all of those screenshots are mine, and some other person cropped out the op of those posts. I literally consulted a trans person when compiling those posts. I also interpreted stuff like the T was added later as in trans people weren’t always there and were added later to the community, and promoting the LG vs BT split, which ignores trans gay people and that cis bi people can still be transphobic. Like, do inclusionists think all LG people are cis? There are also trans people saying that it’s 100% okay for us to use cishet, so your point? Those anons are obviously inclusionists and shows that transphobic sentiment is there. I’m not sure what else I could do there? Does anyone else care to join in?
